Pixel Watch 2 Syncs With Phone’s DND And Bedtime Mode, App Receives 2.0 Redesign

Google Unveils Pixel Watch 2 Companion App Version 2.0 with Enhanced Features

In preparation for the upcoming launch next week, Google is introducing version 2.0 of the Pixel Watch companion app, and along with it, confirming several exciting new features, including the synchronization of Do Not Disturb (DND) and Bedtime Mode.

The app undergoes a visual refresh as it transitions from version 1.4.x to 2.0.0.567628986 this week. Notable changes include the side-by-side placement of “Watch faces” and “Tiles,” streamlining the appearance of other settings by eliminating cards.

Toggles have also been revamped with the sleek Material 3 style, resulting in a more modern overall look. Additionally, Dynamic Color has been toned down for a more refined aesthetic.

In line with the imminent release of the Pixel Watch 2 and Wear OS 4, this update introduces the following features:

  1. “Back-up with Google One”
  2. “Restore during watch setup from the available back-ups”
  3. “Ability to transfer Watch to a new Phone without factory reset”
  4. “Factory reset protection during watch setup”

One of the standout features of the Pixel Watch 2 is its ability to seamlessly mirror the status of Do Not Disturb (DND) and Bedtime Mode from your Pixel phone. However, it’s important to note that this capability is exclusively available for Pixel phone and Pixel Watch 2 users, as other OEM devices are not supported.

Furthermore, the app includes support for Safety Signal under Safety & emergency and incorporates “bug fixes to improve the quality of the app.”

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the eagerly anticipated launch of the Pixel Watch 2.
