Skoda Unveils The All-New Kodiaq Luxury SUV Ahead Of India Launch

Skoda Unveils the All-New Kodiaq Luxury SUV: A Glimpse into the Future

After months of eager anticipation, Skoda has officially unveiled the second-generation Kodiaq SUV, heralding its arrival in India in 2024. This latest iteration features an evolutionary exterior design and a completely revamped cabin, which it shares with the upcoming new-generation Superb set to debut later this year.

Sleek Exterior Design

The global-spec Skoda Kodiaq retains the essence of its predecessor’s design while introducing subtle yet impactful changes. Most notably, it has grown in length by 61mm, now measuring 4.75 meters, all while maintaining its wheelbase and width at 2.71 meters and 1.8 meters, respectively.

Revolutionary Cabin

The Kodiaq shares its cabin with the new-generation Superb, embracing a philosophy of minimalism with a clean and uncluttered layout. It features a two-spoke steering wheel, reminiscent of the Slavia and Kushaq models. Dual digital displays grace the dashboard, with a 13.0-inch infotainment system complemented by a 10-inch virtual cockpit behind the steering wheel.

In India, the new Kodiaq will be exclusively available in the seven-seat configuration, enhancing its versatility. The feature list is enriched with ambient lighting, climate control, wireless charging, and ample storage options throughout the cabin. Skoda has adopted sustainable practices by incorporating natural wool and polyester instead of leather, demonstrating their commitment to eco-friendly materials.

Powerful Performance

For the first time, the Skoda Kodiaq will offer a plug-in hybrid variant, known as the Kodiaq iV. Its battery promises an electric-only range of 100km and supports DC fast charging. While this hybrid may take some time to reach Indian shores, the domestic market will initially receive the Kodiaq with a robust 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 200bhp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed DCT and featuring AWD as standard. The new Kodiaq utilizes the MQB-EVO platform, aligning it with the recently launched new-gen Volkswagen Tiguan.

Coming Soon to India

Indian SUV enthusiasts can look forward to the new-generation Kodiaq’s arrival in 2024. Skoda will assemble it alongside other models like the Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Tiguan AllSpace at its Aurangabad plant. This demonstrates Skoda’s commitment to the Indian market and positions the Kodiaq as a formidable competitor against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.

The 2024 Skoda Kodiaq embodies Skoda’s dedication to innovation, performance, and sustainability. As it enters the Indian market, it aims to redefine the SUV segment with its evolutionary design, cutting-edge cabin, and powerful performance, setting new standards for SUV enthusiasts.
